The idea of starting a Home and Community-based services agency was born in 2006. And though it didn’t immediately materialize, the seed was definitely planted. It would be a few years before the idea that was planted actually bloomed. After four years of lying dormant, the ground started to shift in 2010 making it possible for Ahora y Siempre, Inc to exist today. The application process to become an HCS/TxHmL Provider is started in March of 2010. That same year the application was completed, submitted and in December of that year, our Program Director Francisco Gonzalez was invited to training and testing for certification. In March of 2011 our director attended that training and shocked many of the trainers and test administrators as he completed the certification test in less than 13 minutes. The administrators were baffled by the quickness but our Director would only reply; “if I don’t know this information, I shouldn’t be here getting certified.” Following the test in March, an air of silence came over Ahora y Siempre for a few months until mid-August. In mid-August, we received a call from a potential client in Tarrant County wanting to enroll with Ahora y Siempre. It took our director by surprise as he hadn’t been formally informed of his test results. Our first client was enrolled on August 11, 2011. It wasn’t until a few weeks later that Ahora y Siempre was formally notified by The Department of Aging and Disability Services that our director passed the test “with flying colors.” The calls for clients wanting to enroll at Ahora y Siempre, Inc didn’t stop the rest of the 2011 fall and winter. In January 2012, we opened our humblest and first office. It was out of our director’s one bedroom one bathroom apartment. Little did we know that the space would be entirely inadequate almost immediately. In the spring of 2012, Ahora y Siempre counted with our director, a full time Client Care Coordinator, a full time Registered Nurse and a full time Director of Operations. The pressure to find a bigger office was mounting. That summer we moved into the second floor of the Adolphus Tower. We met a psychologist who no longer had a need for her office space and we agreed to sublet it. That address was 1412 Main St. Ste 205 Dallas, TX 75202. Through all this, the growth didn’t stop. Our record for one month was 21 new clients. The entire team was shocked to see how quickly we outgrew the space we had acquired only months before. At this point, it became necessary to expand once more. This expansion put is in a position where we leased approximately 1/3 of the 2nd floor of the Adolphus tower in Downtown Dallas. By early 2014, the growth seemed to show no signs of slowing down. Rather than expanding our Dallas office again, at the request of our South Texas parents, it became necessary to open a second Ahora y Siempre office in Del Rio, TX. This office is located at 741 S. Main St. Del Rio, TX. We tried to address our growth by opening a second location but that didn’t do much for us. By the fall of 2014 we were once again in a place where we needed additional space. And so we started looking. Before we had the time to settle into our new suite, we had already out grown it. We found ourselves leasing THE ENTIRE 25th floor in the spring of 2015. Currently Ahora y Siempre leases the entire 25th floor of the Adolphus Tower in Downtown Dallas. In the summer of 2016, our families in Laredo began mounting pressure on us for an office in Laredo. Our third location was opened in March 2017. That location is 2387 E. Saunders St. Ste. 1 Laredo, TX 78041. We don’t know what the future holds for us but we know that the past has been very generous to us. We will continue to work hard on behalf of our clients and their families. This is why we exist. To enrich the lives of those who we are blessed to call friends.
